Tenth sail of the season today. I am not including sailing on other boats. So the Cleveland trip isn’t counted.
Decent wind, 10-15 knots from the west southwest and my route was right into it.
Only goal was to head upwind and practice tacking and pointing. Learned a few lessons:
– After back winding the genoa don’t slack the sheet and wait for it to come around, start again.
– While “waiting for it to come around”, the sheet likes to wrap around the mast winch.
– Tack and then adjust the traveler. Avoids depowering the main and making it harder to tack
I am going to try for 2 more sails this week to get 12 in before the end of June.
